Additional Information & Description
The Jungfrau Unlimited Winter Travel Pass covers 3 to 8 days of travel on a network of railways, cableways and local buses in Switzerland’s Jungfrau region. Its practical appeal is the range of places you can reach: Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Mürren, Kleine Scheidegg and mountain stops including Grindelwald First and Männlichen. Unlimited travel on the included routes lets you make several journeys rather than build your visit around a single return trip.
Winter outings in the mountains
The pass supports winter exploration beyond the ski slopes, with transport to starting points for hiking and sledding outings. Grindelwald First is one of the included mountain destinations; the route towards Faulhorn is highlighted as a hiking challenge. Treat the pass as transport for your outings, rather than as admission to an organised activity.
Two included routes reach the Eiger Glacier area: the Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal and the cogwheel railway from Kleine Scheidegg. This gives you different approaches to the same mountain stop, with a cable-car journey from the terminal or a rail journey from Kleine Scheidegg.
Railways, cableways and buses included
The covered network links Interlaken with the valleys and extends to several higher destinations. The following routes are included:
- Railways from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen and to Grindelwald.
- The cogwheel railway on the Grindelwald–Kleine Scheidegg–Lauterbrunnen route.
- The cogwheel railway from Kleine Scheidegg to Eigergletscher.
- The Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal to Eiger Glacier.
- Cableway connections from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp and along Grütschalp–Winteregg–Mürren.
- The cableway from Grindelwald to Grindelwald First.
- Cableways to Männlichen from Grindelwald Terminal and from Wengen.
- Grindelwald bus routes 121, 122, 123, 124 and 125.
- Libero Zone 750 between Interlaken West and Interlaken East.
Starting point and ticket access
The listed starting point is Interlaken Ost train station, at Untere Bönigstrasse 5 in Interlaken. It is a useful place to begin because the covered rail network branches from here towards both Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.
Ticket delivery is instant, and smartphone tickets are accepted, so you can keep the ticket on your phone. Wheelchair access is listed for the pass.
Journeys outside the pass
The Eiger Glacier–Jungfraujoch section is not included. Reaching Eigergletscher on a covered service therefore does not give you onward travel to Jungfraujoch, Europe’s highest railway station.
The pass also excludes Harder Kulm, the Grindelwald–Bussalp mountain bus route, the Grindelwald ski bus, and boat trips on Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. Keep these separate from your covered journeys when planning a day out.
